On Friday, March 3rd, our chapter hosted a public reading of Vivaldi's Gloria (RV 589) on our own campus! In preparation for this event, auditions were held, and student conductors and soloists were selected for the performance. This event provided singers with an opportunity to learn and perform well-known arias, and at the same time, young conductors were given a chance to study a masterwork, prepare a score (with guidance from the wonderful choral faculty at IC), and refine our skills on the podium.
There were music lovers of all ages in attendance, and everyone had a wonderful time singing and sight-reading together! It was a tremendous educational experience for those who were unfamiliar with this great work.
