![]() Once upon a time, there were two choir girls from the far away kingdom of Ithaca who traveled a perilous journey to the mountains of Utah... Last night, Laura W. and I sat together at The King's Singers' performance in the Tabernacle. The performance was like no other. Today, we decided we would wait in line to meet the performers in person. It was a long wait, but we finally got to speak with each of them. We found out that three of Jonathan Howard's favorite performance venues include: Carnegie Hall, a venue in Singapore with perfect acoustics, and a venue in Chile surrounded by volcanoes. Later on in the evening Laura W, Laura S, and I went to The Granden Restaurant in Temple Square. The restaurant's atmosphere was charming and refreshing. Shortly after sitting down, I realized that Christopher Gabbitas, baritone from the King's Singers, was sitting just a table over. It was a wonderful surprise to the three of us! --Kelly Meehan, Freshman Meet another one of our bloggers, Kelly! Name: Kelly Meehan Year: Freshman Involvement in ACDA: Active ACDA Member since 2014 Favorite thing about choral music: My favorite thing about choral music is the emotional connection between the performers and audience. There is no other experience like being involved in a choral ensemble. Vocalists have a job like no other- to communicate their emotions through their voices. One thing I'm enjoying at ACDA Conference: I am enjoying the atmosphere of choral music professionals. Everyone I meet share my passion for choral music.
