On Tuesday, December 8th, in the spirit of the holiday season, IC ACDA hosted a Messiah sing! Our reading featured student conductors and soloists, accompanied by a student pianist. We were thrilled to be able to provide so many students with this performance opportunity! Our student conductors assumed great responsibility and took on all of the tasks that would be required of any conductor in a professional setting, including thorough score analysis and private preparation. It was a wonderful learning experience for all, and we had a blast putting it together! The event was attended by approximately 60 people, including students of all majors, IC faculty members, and several members of the Ithaca community. This was the first time we had opened up an event like this to the community, and it was great to receive such a positive response! It truly was a privilege to be able to share the joy of singing with music lovers of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences levels. We are so grateful to those who came and sang, and we hope everyone had as much fun as we had! IC ACDA plans to make the Messiah sing an annual event, so stay tuned for more information about next year's reading!
