![]() Hello everyone! Miggy Torres here again to let you all in on a few news items. First off, the All-Member Meeting last week went absolutely splendidly! It was so great to hear from so many of our members about what everyone can do to make Ithaca ACDA even better! We're looking forward to seeing even more of you at or next one! It's likely that it will be on the last Wednesday of October (the 30th) but dates and times are still soft. When we have everything solidified, you'll be the first to know via our blog, new Facebook Page (more on that in a sec), and Calendar. Second thing: we're having an info/interest session regarding the trip to the 2014 ACDA Divisional Conference, which will be in Baltomore, Maryland this year! This info session will be in room 3302 of the Whalen School of Music on Thursday, October 3rd at 7PM! (So that's tomorrow with respect to when I'm posting this). Even if you don't know if you want to go to Baltimore, or if you're not really sure what it is or how it works, come by. We will answer all your questions! The last thing, which I mentioned before, is th that I'm happy to announce that your friendly-neighborhood Ithaca ACDA has a new Facebook Page! We've finally gotten a proper one, so feel free to head over there and give us a like! From now on, our blog posts will also show up on our Facebook page, so you'll know when we have a new post right when it's published! That is all. Cheers! —MT

![]() Hello, everyone! Miggy Torres here, your friendly neighborhood President-Elect! In the wake of winning our last Student Chapter Award, Joe and I have been discussing the possibility of giving our website a makeover. You see, we plan on "one-upping" ourselves these next two years as we work toward 2015's Outstanding Student Chapter Prize! Joe and I figured giving our website the ol' spit and shine would be a great place to start. As a result, over the past few weeks, we've been working tirelessly to get this new website up and running. Now that it's here, we couldn't be more excited! There are quite a few differences from the old site (which, between you and me, I won't miss for a second), but I wanted to talk about a few of them, just to help you get settled in the new site. First of all, we now have a proper blog! Thank goodness! And now it's not buried under pages and side-bars and such. Now we can connect directly with you from our front page (which is my favourite part about this whole thing)! This year we're gonna try to be super-transparent with all the goings-on of ACDA, so check back here frequently for updates about upcoming events and activities that come directly from your e-board! We'll also be posting about stories and experiences that we've had involving ACDA that we think will be beneficial to you as a reader (really looking forward to this bit! Can't wait to share with all of you)! Next, you'll notice a nice new Meet Us section in the tabs above. Here you can meet both our stunning Executive Board and our illustrious advisor, Dr. Janet Galván. Instead of a wall of text and tiny thumbnail portraits, you now have dedicated pages where you can see and read about the awesome people that help keep IC ACDA running at its best, with full-length bios and fancy head-shots (except for Joe, ironically)! You'll also notice a new section dedicated solely to prospective and returning members. Here, you can learn a bit about what it is we do here at ACDA in a nutshell. You can also find links to materials that will allow you to renew your membership or even join ACDA for the first time (yeah!). FInally, you'll notice a few "social-media icons" at the top of our page. Those will let you email us and check out our Facebook and Twitter accounts with just one click! More transparency, hurray! Once again, I'd like to say that Joe and I are really excited about the new site. It's still very much in the process of evolution, so if you have any suggestions of how we can make our site better, drop one of us a line via email or via the Contact page above! Choral music, yeah!!! —MT |
