![]() This concert featuring Spivey Hall's Children's Choir, Miller Middle School Advanced Choir, and Mira Costa High School Vocal Ensemble was absolutely spectacular. I cried, smiled, laughed and had an incredible time. Spivey Hall's Children's Choir, under the incredible direction of Martha Shaw, was truly remarkable. They spanned genres from Spirituals, to folk music, to incredibly intricate classical standards. Their rendition of "No Time" (Susan Brumfield), brought me to tears! The students had incredible connections with the audience and the conductor, and really communicated the text and story to the audience in an incredibly meaningful way. Miller Middle School Advanced Choir, under the energetic direction of Anthony Arnold, was SO fun to watch. The students had so much energy! Their movements really connected to the text and looked so natural. I also loved the repertoire choices for the group. The pieces Mr. Arnold chose truly reflected quality repertoire for a middle school choir (especially one with fewer boys!). Mira Costa High School Vocal Ensemble, under the direction of the fabulous Michael Hayden, filled the room with glorious tone, and absolutely beautiful lines. From Brahms, to Tosti, to Disney the group sounded incredible. I was truly moved by their performances. This was such an incredible concert- fabulous job to all who were involved! -Rebecca Saltzman (ICACDA President and Senior)
