On Sunday, April 17th, at 6pm in Beeler Hall, our ACDA chapter held its second annual benefit concert to raise money for ACDA's Fund for Tomorrow! Our concert was primarily comprised of short works presented by student vocalists and pianists from the IC School of Music. Students performed a wide variety of repertoire, from Faure to Rodgers and Hammerstein! We were also fortunate to be able to feature two choral ensembles on our program: IC's all-female a cappella group Premium Blend, and The Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers. This was a wonderful way to spend a Sunday evening, with great music, great people, for a great cause. It was such a pleasure to hear everyone's performances! We at ACDA send our sincerest thanks to everyone who attended and/or participated in this event. We collected over $100 in donations for the Fund for Tomorrow. Organizing a small benefit concert is a fun and easy way to raise money and provide performance opportunities for music students at your school. We would like to extend an invitation to other collegiate chapters of ACDA to participate in the Student Benefit Concert Series next year! If we all held fundraisers at our respective schools, we could really make a substantial contribution to the Fund for Tomorrow through our combined efforts. Are you a member of an ACDA student chapter? We'd love to hear from you! Please send us your ideas about how we could improve this initiative for next year! Check out the concert program below! ![]()
