Juliana Child — PresIDent
Juliana Joy Child is a senior Music Education and Voice Performance major at Ithaca College. She is in the voice studio of Prof. Patrice Pastore. Juliana is originally from East Bridgewater, Massachusetts and is a graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School in Brockton, MA.
Juliana aspires to be a choral educator, and she is always eager to take advantage of any and all opportunities to grow as a musician and as a teacher! She is currently a member of the IC Choir (conducted by Dr. Janet Galván) and the IC Madrigal Singers (conducted by Dr. Sean Linfors). Recently, she attended the Norfolk Chamber Music and Choral Conducting Workshop (led by Simon Carrington) through Yale University. As a collaborative pianist, she has worked with the IC Campus Choral Ensemble (directed by Dr. Susan Avery), the Ithaca Children and Youth Chorus, and the Longview Intergenerational Choir.
This year, Juliana is excited to be working with all three ensembles of the Ithaca Children and Youth Chorus program at the Community School of Music and Arts. Juliana also works as an assistant conductor and section leader for the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers (directed by Dr. Baruch Whitehead), a community spiritual and gospel choir for which she is also the student representative on the Board of Directors. She is also the student director of the IC Catholic Community Music Ministry, and she works as the undergraduate choral assistant to IC ACDA's Chapter Advisor, Dr. Janet Galván. Additionally, she teaches private piano lessons to beginners of all ages and serves as a music director/pianist for the Act One Scene 1 summer theatre program in Brockton, MA.
